To be listed in this section, it means that the breeder records all of their breeding stock with the AKC-FSS, registers their DNA with AKC, microchips or tattoos them for permanent identification, checks various health indicators and provides other reasonable means to ensure that the Podengos are healthy and are going to the best homes.

All purebred Podengos coming to or born in the United States should be recorded with AKC's Foundation Stock Service. That is because when there are sufficient numbers, the Podengo breed will be fully recognized and able to participate in thousands of AKC events throughout America.
